Atorkor District Donates Food To The Aged

The Atorkor District in the Aflao Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated food items worth over GH¢ 2,000.00 to the aged members in the district.

The donation, which formed part of the church’s social responsibility to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, included 5 Kilogram bags of rice among others.

Handing over the items to the beneficiaries on Sunday, June 7, 2020, the District Minister, Pastor Kweku Appiah-Kubi Annan, said that the donation was part of the church’s effort of caring for the aged members.

He indicated that the church decided to support the aged because most of them needed help, especially during the pandemic.

The district minister, therefore, assured the members of the church’s continuous support to the needy, aged, and the vulnerable in times like this.

He used the opportunity to educate them about the dangers of the pandemic.

“Please, take personal hygiene, physical distancing, and other safety protocols very seriously as the pandemic has gained grounds in the country,” he emphasized.

Pastor Annan commended the Aflao Area Head, Apostle Peter Kofi Dzemekey, the district presbytery as well as some individuals for their immense contribution towards the success of the exercise.

Elder Prosper Gadri, one of the beneficiaries, applauded the church leadership for the initiative and prayed that it becomes a continuous practice.

Report by Pastor Ernest Perbi-Asare.
