Ashaiman Area Holds Discipleship And Leadership Training Seminar

The Ashaiman Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a day’s seminar for Ministers and Wives, Presiding Elders and Bible Study Leaders in the Area.

The seminar took place on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Michel Camp (PIWC-Michel Camp). A huge attendance was recorded, with 253 church officers taking part in the seminar.

The seminar was held under the theme: “Developing Disciple-Making Leaders.” The primary goal of the seminar was to equip church leaders to effectively nurture new converts and church members in the Christian faith.

The seminar was facilitated by the Kenyase District Minister, Pastor Eric Ansah. He was ably assisted by the Mahesh Anyaa Ablekuma District Minister, Pastor Isaac Boadu Bonsu.

In a brief exhortation on the topic; “Developing Disciple-Making Leaders,” Pastor Eric Ansah indicated that the Church is a symbol of leadership, and is designed to inspire members to dominate in all spheres of their lives.

He also noted that developing disciple-making leaders is a major area of focus for the Church as it is encapsulated in the 5-year vision document of the Church dubbed “Vision 2023.”

Reading from Acts 19, Pastor Ansah drew lessons from the life of Apostle Paul. He explained that in his evangelistic missions, Paul focused on developing the leadership qualities in young people like Timothy. He admonished that the young generation should not be looked down upon but encouraged to take up leadership roles in the Church.

Speaking on the topic: “Organizing New Members Class in The Church of Pentecost,” Pastor Isaac Boadu Bonsu explained the difference between the New Members Class and the New Convert Class. “They are different although they have some similarities,” he stressed.

He admonished the ministers to train officers in the best way to handle new members and new converts appropriately.

Pastor Isaac Boadu Bonsu further advised church leaders to participate in Bible Study Classes. “Everyone should get involved; the District Minister, Presiding Elders, Bible Study Leaders and all members,” he reiterated.

He also educated participants on how to transform Bible Study Groups into Discipleship Groups.
