Heartfelt songs of praise filled the Sefwi Bekwai Central Assembly on Sunday, August 17, 2025, as The Church of Pentecost held a glorious retirement service in honour of Apostle Emmanuel Kwasi Osei Ofosu and his wife, Sophia, for their over three decades of faithful service to God and humanity.
The event celebrated their ministry, which has been marked by phenomenal church growth, innovative evangelism initiatives, and exemplary servant leadership.
Apostle Emmanuel Kwasi Osei Ofosu entered full-time ministry in 1994, serving in several stations including Dodo Amanfrom District (now Nkwanta Area), Ofankor Assembly under Taifa District as Supporting Minister, Elim Assembly under Alajo District, Kotobaabi Worship Centre, Alogboshie Worship Centre, and New Weija District. He was called into the office of Apostle in 2015 and went on to serve as Area Head for Abuakwa and later Sefwi Bekwai. Beyond these, he contributed immensely to the church through active service on committees, boards, ministries, and para-church organisations.
His wife, Mrs Sophia Osei Ofosu, whose deep prayer life, revelational teaching, and warm hospitality left an indelible mark on many, was also appreciated.
Preaching on the theme, ‘I Have Fought the Good Fight’ (2 Timothy 4:7), Apostle Sylvester Arhin (Executive Council Member and Takoradi Area Head) underscored that the Christian life is a daily battle against sin, temptation, and worldly distractions.
‘The fight is not physical but moral and spiritual, demanding patience, prayer, and an active resistance to evil,’ he stated, stressing the need for discipline and vigilance.
Testimonies from the General Council, Area Presbytery, Area Pastorate, and Women’s Ministry praised Apostle and Mrs Osei Ofosu for their integrity, mentorship, and transformational leadership. In recognition of their devoted service, the couple was honoured with a citation and a certificate of honour.
In his farewell address, Apostle Osei Ofosu reflected on God’s faithfulness and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who supported them throughout their ministry journey.
