The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Oboubi, has urged Christians to seek eternal rewards for their service in Christ.

He made the call on Sunday, February 9, 2025, when he fellowshipped at the Mamprobi Central and English assemblies.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Eternal or Earthly Rewards,’ he urged Christians to prioritise holiness and service to God in order to attain lasting, heavenly rewards.

Drawing from Ephesians 4:1 and 1 Thessalonians 4:7, Apostle Obuobi explained that believers are called to a life of holiness, which should be evident in their actions, speech, and thoughts.

He highlighted the significance of good character, sound decisions, generosity, and sacrifice, noting that God rewards every action, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

‘God is watching everything in your life. You will be rewarded for all you have done and will do in obedience to Jesus while on this earth,’ he said.

The chief scribe further explored the distinction between earthly and eternal rewards. According to him, earthly rewards, which can be described as temporal, transient, material, and subject to decay, were contrasted with eternal rewards, which extend beyond this life into eternity and are lasting and enduring.

He stressed that while earthly blessings are appreciated, believers should focus on accumulating eternal rewards through faithfulness, obedience, and service to God.

Referencing Revelations 22:12, Apostle Obuobi reminded the congregation that Jesus is coming soon, bringing rewards with Him to repay each person according to their deeds. He encouraged the church to work heartily for the Lord, knowing that they will receive an inheritance as their reward.

The General Secretary also touched on the sacrifices made for the gospel, assuring the church that those who sacrifice for the gospel will receive rewards, both in the present age and in the age to come.
