Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost and the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), has been elected as the new Chairman of the Ghana Evangelism Committee (GEC).

The election, which took place in absentia, marks a significant milestone in his distinguished leadership career.

Apostle Nyamekye succeeds Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, immediate-past Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana and former Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana.

Alongside this appointment, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, was elected Vice Chairman of the Committee.

The Ghana Evangelism Committee (GEC), established in 1974, is an indigenous, interdenominational service agency committed to fulfilling the Great Commission in Ghana and beyond.

Initially founded to introduce the “New Life for All Movement” to Ghanaian churches, GEC has since evolved into a catalyst for mobilising the Body of Christ for comprehensive evangelistic efforts.

Apostle Nyamekye’s election as Chairman is expected to bring renewed vigour and strategic direction to GEC’s mission.

Known for his visionary leadership within The Church of Pentecost, he has consistently championed holistic approaches to evangelism and church growth.

The Committee’s work remains pivotal in advancing the gospel in Ghana and fostering interdenominational collaboration.
