In line with its commitment to transforming society through the Gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit, the Church of Pentecost, Agona Swedru Area, has reached beyond the church auditorium to demonstrate practical Christian love to inmates of the Osamkrom Prison Camp.

The outreach, which formed part of the Church’s social responsibility mandate, underscores the biblical call to remember those in confinement and to extend compassion to the marginalised. The initiative reflects the conviction that the Gospel must be lived and expressed through tangible acts of care, especially among vulnerable groups within society.

On Thursday, January 1, 2026, a delegation from the Agona Swedru Area, led by Area Head, Pastor Adjei-Nimako Darkwa, paid a visit to the prison camp. The team donated items valued at GHS12,755.00 to support the welfare of the inmates and contribute to improving their living conditions.

Items presented included packs of bottled water, assorted soft drinks, bags of rice, maize, sugar, and other essential food supplies. The donation was warmly received by prison authorities and inmates, who expressed appreciation for the gesture and the concern shown for their well-being.

The visit was coordinated through the Area Prisons Ministry, reinforcing the Church’s focus on ministering hope, dignity, and restoration to people deprived of liberty. The exercise also served as an encouragement to inmates, reminding them that they are not forgotten and that God’s love reaches every place.

The Area expressed gratitude to all individuals and pastorates who contributed to the success of the outreach. Special appreciation was extended to Pastor Noah Dari, Prisons Ministry Coordinator, Pastor Bright Frimpong, Area Secretary, as well as the various pastorates within the municipality for their support and participation.

The Agona Swedru Area reaffirmed its resolve to continue engaging in initiatives that reflect Christ’s love in action, as the Church pursues its mission of transforming society and possessing the nations.
