Tens of thousands of people from diverse backgrounds gathered at the CEPS Park in Aflao, located near the border between Ghana and Togo, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, to mark the commencement of the “Aflao For Christ” crusade.

The event, being organised by the Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost in collaboration with the Women’s Ministry, is under the theme: “In Him Is Life (John 1:4)”.

The crusade, which began on March 12, is scheduled to conclude on Friday, March 15, 2024. Morning sessions will continue at the Shekinah Glory Temple in Aflao, with evening sessions at the CEPS Park.

The crusade will culminate with a free medical outreach on Saturday morning. Apostle Dr. Amos Jimmy Markin, the Evangelism Ministry Director, anticipates that the crusade will be marked by miracles and powerful testimonies.

In his sermon delivered on the opening day, the Evangelism Ministry Director revealed that gaining eternal life is a personal decision.

He explained that it cannot be forced or emotionally manipulated, but rather, it’s a decision that comes from within.

Drawing from Mark 10:17-22, Apostle Dr. Markin highlighted the universal quest for understanding life after death and the path to eternal life.

He stressed the need for this quest, present in the hearts of unbelievers, to be settled once and for all.

Apostle Dr. Markin reminded the congregation of Jesus’s love for all men, even sinners, and clarified that merely doing good deeds does not qualify one for heaven.

He explained that every person is born in sin and thus spiritually dead, unable to inherit the spiritual world. However, God sent His son, Jesus, who died and resurrected for all mankind.

“Everyone who believes in Jesus receives the Spirit of God and inherits eternal life. This belief allows the individual to dwell in that Spirit,” he added.

He urged the congregation to accept their sinful nature, believe in Jesus Christ as Lord over their lives, and acknowledge Him. In doing so, He will bring His Spirit into their spirit, leading to a spiritual rebirth.

Among those ministering during the crusade are Apostle Michael Agyen Brefo (Aflao Area Head), Apostle Dr. Christian Tsekpoe (Head of Ministerial Formation, Pentecost University), and Elder Seth Peasah (El Bethel Prayer Centre).

Notable attendees at the event included Deaconess Mrs. Philomina Mireku (Women’s Ministry Director), Mrs. Rebecca Aseyero (Wife of Suhum Area Head), Mrs. Rebecca Sey (Wife of Dansoman Area Head), and Deaconess Eunice Obeng (Evangelism Ministry NEC Member).
