The Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS) of the Achimota Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated items worth GH¢25,400 to the Ofankor Police Station to improve its working environment and support effective service delivery.
The donation, which formed part of activities marking the 2026 PENTSOS Awareness Weekend, included office furniture, an air conditioner, 3D signage, waiting chairs and other essential items needed by the station.
Presenting the items, Pastor Dr. Job Wiredu, Ofankor District Pastor and representative of the Achimota Area Head, Apostle Joseph Danzerl, said the intervention was in line with the Church’s commitment to addressing both the spiritual and physical needs of people.
He cited the biblical account of Jesus feeding the five thousand, as recorded in Matthew 14:13–21, noting that Christ demonstrated the importance of combining spiritual ministry with practical support for people’s physical needs.
Pastor Dr. Wiredu said the Church was therefore committed to following Christ’s example by complementing the preaching of the Gospel with interventions that contribute to the wellbeing of communities and institutions.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ofankor Police Station, Superintendent Kingsley Kofi Kanda, Mile 7 District Police Commander, commended PENTSOS and The Church of Pentecost for their continued support to the Ghana Police Service.
He, however, appealed to the Church to consider supporting the construction of a new police station, explaining that the existing facility was in a weak condition and prone to flooding.
According to him, a new facility would provide a safer and more suitable working environment for police officers and enhance their ability to serve residents within the area.
The donation was also attended by Pastor Joseph Ndanyinanseh, New Achimota District Pastor and PENTSOS Pastors’ Representative; Elder Gabriel Koranteng Gyasi, Area PENTSOS Chairman; members of the PENTSOS committee and other church officers. The intervention forms part of PENTSOS’ community engagement and social intervention initiatives aimed at supporting institutions and contributing to the wellbeing of communities within the operational areas of The Church of Pentecost.
