The newly created Abira District in the New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has been successfully inaugurated to the glory of God, increasing the total number of districts in the Area to 13.

The creation of the Abira District, comprising seven (7) local assemblies, was approved during the recently held 47th Session of the General Council Meetings of the Church. It was carved out of the Bonwire District in the New Tafo Area.

Officiated by the Area Head, Prophet Samuel Tetteh Doku, the inaugural ceremony, held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Abira Central Assembly, coincided with the welcome service for the pioneer District Minister, Pastor Samuel Amo Ofori, and his family.

During the service, members of both the District and the Ministries Executive Committees were sworn in, heralding the beginning of a new chapter for the Abira District.

The momentous occasion drew a host of dignitaries, including Nana Bona Kessetare II, the Chief of Abira; the Area pastorate and their spouses; and clergymen from various denominations in Abira, among others.
