An appreciation service has been organized for the immediate past Area Deacon of Yendi Area of The Church of Pentecost, Elder Prosper Mensah.
The service, which was also used to appreciate two reviewed Area Executive Committee Members as well as two other reviewed Executive Committee Members of the Area Women’s Ministry, took place on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Yendi.
Speaking on the theme, “God will not forget your work and labour of love” based on Hebrews 6:7-12, the Area Head, Apostle William Kojo Edzorhoho, said that every leader chosen by God is required to stand in the gap.
He indicated that standing in the gap would be very difficult to execute if it is not done out of love.
He explained that when God calls a leader, He deposits qualities in him to execute His work. “Though God has called you and has deposited gifts and abilities in you, love is critical to help you succeed in doing the work you have been called to do,” he said.
“The work is full of dangers, challenges, etc., but the Lord is with us and will see us through. Do not hide your talents for any reason but work with whatever abilities God has endowed you with. Be faithful, hardworking, patient and focused, and the Lord will bless us.”
Elder Prosper Mensah was elected as the first Area Deacon of Yendi Area in July 2011. He served for two consecutive terms, having worked with two Area Heads. He was reviewed in January 2019.
In response, Elder Mensah thanked the leadership, officers and members of the Church in the Area for their unflinching support during his tenure, and requested that they grant same support to his successor.
