The Teshie-Nungua Area of The Church of Pentecost under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah, has organized its maiden Area mass wedding. The ceremony took place on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Fred Stephen Safo Temple, Nungua.

The mass wedding, the first of its kind in the Area, was meant to support members who are of age but are unable to marry due to financial difficulties.

Eight couples had the opportunity of having their marriages blessed. The Area provided refreshments for the couples and all the patrons with the catering services provided by the Areas’ Women’s Ministry Resource Centre.

Preaching the sermon, the Sakumono District Minister, Pastor Samuel Amankra Fanyinka, encouraged the couples to let God be at the centre of their marriages. “If only you will allow Christ to be at the centre of your marriage, it will stand the test of time for the rest of your lives,” he said.

Reading from Psalm 127: 1-2, John2:1-4 among other scriptures, Pastor Fanyinka said marriage should be built on Christ because without Him in the marriage, it will be difficult for couples to enjoy it. “Marriage is good that is why Satan seeks to destroy it,” he added.

“The manual for marriage is the Bible, so strive to know much about the Bible and that will enable you to marry well, and also enjoy your marriage.”

According to him, if only believers will allow the Holy Spirit to lead them in their marriages, any wrong or crooked paths in their marriage can be resolved.

Pastor Fanyinka also used the occasion to encourage singles to wait patiently for their time and season since God is a God of times and seasons. He also encouraged existing couples to invite God into their marriages to revive their marriages, adding, “No matter how bitter your marriage has become, by inviting God into it, your marriage can become sweeter.”

Pastor Fanyinka assured the newlyweds that their marriages will work because they have put Christ at the centre of their marriages, saying, “The certificate is given before you start the marriage because you are a victor, so do not let the world divide you.”

The Area Head, Apostle Dr. Koduah, who officiated the ceremony, pronounced God’s blessing upon the new couples and urged them to marry well.

The event was well attended by members of the church, and ministers and their wives in the Area. Also present was Apostle M. M. Koppa, a retired minister of the Church.
