The Achimota Central Assembly of The Church of Pentecost on the Farmers’ Day (December 7, 2018) organized a free health screening for residents of Achimota and its environs.

The health screening and medical consultation began at exactly 6:30am at the Achimota Market and ended at 2:00pm.

It was undertaken in collaboration with Entrance and Bedita Pharmaceuticals, which delivered free medical services to over 300 people in the community.

Among the medical services offered were breast screening, blood pressure checking, malaria screening, blood sugar levels checking, deworming, mental health status and nutritional assessments.

Also, there was a free eye screening and consultation for people with eye problems. The medical outreach team also used the opportunity to educate the populace on how to take good care of their eyes.

The outreach team in collaboration with the Blood Bank team from the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital) also encouraged the patrons to donate blood.

Elder Evans Sallah, the Presiding Elder of the English Assembly, in a remark explained that the exercise was in line with the vision of the Church of possessing the nations and transforming the society with kingdom principles and values. He encouraged Christians to serve their communities with whatever God has blessed them with.

Elder Sallah thanked the medical team for their services.
