The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has congratulated the Chairman-elect of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye.
Tweeting at his Twitter handle @NAkufoAddo, President Akufo-Addo said: “Warmest congratulations to Apostle Eric Nyamekye on his election as the next Chairman of The Church of Pentecost. God bless him, and be his guide in discharge of his duties.”
Apostle Eric Nyamekye, 53, was elected as the new Chairman of the leading Pentecostal church in Ghana, The Church of Pentecost, on Thursday afternoon replacing the current Chairman, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, who is due for retirement in August this year.
He received an overwhelming endorsement of the General Council after polling a total of 994 votes out of the 1,009 total votes cast, representing 98.5%.
Married with six children, the Chairman-elect who is an Executive Council Member, is the current Area Head for Koforidua. He will be inducted into office on 25th August, 2018.
