The Managing Director of Asempa FM, Elder Philip Osei Bonsu (Esq.), popularly known as OB, has urged Ghanaian youth to strive to leave a positive and lasting impact wherever they find themselves.
He made this remark during the 2026 Youth & Useful Summit, organised by the Mampong-Akuapem District in the Koforidua Area of The Church of Pentecost, held at the Anagkazo Campus from Friday, June 5, to Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The two-day summit was aimed at equipping participants with highlights of the Church’s Vision 2028 and to get the youth committed at working to achieve the key performance indices of the vision.
The summit had over 200 participants in attendance, and was held under the inspiring theme, ‘Unleashed for Exploits with the Word and Excellent Spirit.’ It brought together young people from the church and other denominations for an intensive period of spiritual empowerment, personal development, career guidance, and mentorship.
Addressing the participants, Elder Philip Osei Bonsu encouraged the youth to uphold integrity, excellence, and godly values in every sphere of life, reminding them that their daily conduct preaches a louder sermon than their words. He also gave practical titbits on job opportunities, career choices, and the need to excel as Christians.
‘You cannot be a member of The Church of Pentecost and not excel; you cannot be youth and useful and not be unleashed,’ he stressed.
The opening session was led by the District Minister, Pastor George Osei-Asiedu, who spoke to the topic, ‘You are Unleashed to Do It.’ He cautioned the youth that procrastination and living an unplanned life —whether in the spiritual or secular realm — act as formidable destroyers of destiny.
He further stressed that leadership roles and positions are meant for performance and impact, not mere privileges to be enjoyed. He called on the youth to recognise every opportunity of life as a position to be used to honour God and make meaningful impact on people and communities.
‘Even being born a male or female should be seen as a position in life and harnessed to transform an aspect of your world,’ he revealed, adding that the youth should seize the various positions and opportunities they have to make Jesus famous instead of waiting to be appointed or ordained into an office before acting.
Touching on lessons from the life of Queen Esther in the Bible, Pastor Osei-Asiedu offered a profound perspective on her famous declaration, ‘If I perish, I perish.’ He pointed out that the statement was not a cry of despair, but rather a bold statement of sheer determination and courage. He thus charged the youth to adopt a mindset of action and remain resolutely determined to ‘possess the nations’ against all odds.
Following his stirring message, Pastor Osei-Asiedu led the attendees in an intensive prayer session focused on yielding to the Holy Spirit and receiving divine impartation.
The summit also featured presentations from other distinguished speakers. Dr Ebenezer Nyamekye Nkrumah, a lecturer, educated participants on research, academic advancement, and scholarship opportunities, encouraging them to rigorously pursue excellence in their educational and professional endeavours.
Additionally, Mr Ebenezer Boakye Agyemang, also a lecturer based in the UK delivered an insightful presentation on relationships and marriage. He advised the youth to prayerfully and carefully assess any person they intend to spend the rest of their lives with, emphasising that a solid foundation is required to build and sustain a successful Christian marriage.
Also in attendance to support the programme were Mrs Rosalind Osei-Asiedu, wife of the district minister; Pastor Michael Akrobettoe, the Youth Pastor of the Koforidua Area; as well as other distinguished guests and church leaders.
The two-day summit concluded on a high note, with the participants expressing immense gratitude for the impactful sessions, the spiritual awakening, and the practical lessons shared by the speakers. Many left inspired, revived, and better equipped to pursue their God-given purpose while making meaningful contributions to the Church, their communities, and the nation at large.
