The Professionals in Critical Missions Committee (PRICRIM) of the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost has organised a relief outreach for victims of the recent floods at Tema Community 5.

Held on June 10, 2026, the intervention, which forms part of the Church’s commitment to holistic ministry, provided relief items, counselling, psychosocial support, and evangelism to affected residents. A prior assessment revealed significant humanitarian and emotional needs, with many victims displaced and sheltering in churches and other safe locations.

Led by Pastor Solomon Anderson and Mrs. Joyce Anderson, the HUM Sector Minister for Ashaiman, in collaboration with the Tema Greenwich Meridian District of the Church, the team visited temporary shelters, including a church at the community entrance and the Ideal College Assembly Hall. The outreach was supported by clergy, church officers, professionals, volunteers, and community leaders.

Mrs. Abigail Offei Badu, a Professional Counsellor and wife of the National HUM Coordinator,  encouraged the affected residents, while Dr. Grace Owusu Aboagye, a Consultant Clinical Pharmacist in Behavioural and Mental Health, spoke on emotional wellness and resilience. Six individuals also received one-on-one counselling.

During an evangelistic session led by Pastor Solomon Anderson, two people battling drug addiction accepted Christ and were referred to Pastor Dr. Suleman De-Graft Issaka, who doubles as the Tema Greenwich Meridian District Minister and Tema Area Secretary, for follow-up and discipleship.

Pastor Dr. Issaka, on behalf of the Tema Area Head, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani, thanked the team, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.

A total of 200 relief packs containing food, clothing, and educational materials were distributed. The exercise also identified vulnerable beneficiaries requiring further support, including three chronic illness cases and one pregnant woman.

PRICRIM expressed gratitude to HUM leadership, the Tema Area, volunteers, donors, professionals, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the outreach.

The programme provided practical relief, emotional care, counselling, and spiritual support, demonstrating Christ’s love to the affected community.

Present at the event were Pastor Timothy Adepah, Area HUM Coordinator, Elder Emmanuel Obeng, District Counselling Committee Chairman, among others.
