The Kpong District Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has led eight inmates of the Akuse Male Prison to Christ during an evangelism outreach aimed at bringing hope and spiritual encouragement to persons in confinement.

The outreach, held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, was organised under the theme “Making Jesus Famous Behind Bars” as part of the district’s evangelism activities for the second half of the year. It was inspired by Christ’s words in Matthew 25:36: “I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

The team, led by the District Youth Leader, Elder Dickson Akweh, and his assistant, Deacon Enoch Affanyi, was received by prison officers, including Supt. Godfred Dartey, ASP Rockson Matey and ASP Gilbert Denu.

During the visit, the team ministered to 248 inmates, including 25 remand prisoners, preaching the gospel and offering prayers for both inmates and prison officers. Eight inmates accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour.

As part of efforts to support the spiritual growth of the inmates, the team donated three boxes of literature published by The Church of Pentecost to the prison.

The inmates and officers expressed gratitude to the Church for the visit and appealed for such initiatives to be sustained.
