The New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Shadrack Ohene Asa-Otu, has encouraged Christians to diligently work towards possessing and sustaining the blessings God has destined for their lives.
He noted that while salvation is freely received through faith in Christ Jesus and the confession of faith, as stated in Romans 10:9–10, the manifestation and sustenance of divine blessings require faith, diligence and purposeful action.
“You must work on your blessings,” he emphasised.
Apostle Asa-Otu made the call on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Yennyawoso Central Assembly auditorium during the opening session of the First Retirement Offering organised in honour of the District Minister, Pastor Maxwell Adubofourh Asiedu, and his family.
Speaking on the theme, “Honouring the Man of God,” based on 2 Kings 4:8–17, he drew attention to the example of the Shunammite woman, who demonstrated honour to Prophet Elisha by providing him with accommodation and other necessities to support his ministry.
According to Apostle Asa-Otu, several individuals who became notable in the Bible were people who willingly used their resources to support the work of God. He, therefore, urged Christians to support ministers and contribute generously towards the advancement of the Gospel.
He stressed that the ministerial calling comes with numerous demands and sacrifices, making it important for the Church to appreciate and support those who dedicate themselves to the work of God.
“When we use what God has given us to advance the work of His servants, we are not merely supporting a person; we are participating in the work God has entrusted to that person,” he explained, quoting Colossians 3:23–24.
Apostle Asa-Otu further explained that honouring men of God can open the way for believers to experience remarkable blessings, including miracles, healing, financial breakthroughs and divine recognition.
He concluded by urging the congregation to remain faithful and steadfast in the Lord, assuring them that God would sustain them and see them through their challenges.
The service was attended by Mrs Beatrice Asa-Otu, wife of the Area Head; Pastor Benjamin and Mrs Regina Amankwaatia of the Buokrom Estate District; and Pastor Stephen Ameyaw and Mrs Stella Frempong of the Sepe-Buokrom District.
