A remarkable act of faith, generosity, and commitment to the work of God has culminated in the construction and dedication of a new church auditorium for the Akobimah Assembly of The Church of Pentecost in the Abeadze Dominase District of the Mankessim Area.
The project, which was single-handedly financed by Elder Samuel Henry Biney and his wife, Deaconess Mrs Grace Biney of the Kaneshie Worship Centre, was dedicated to the glory of God on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The dedication service was officiated by the Mankessim Area Head, Apostle Isaac Kofi Annan.
The journey of the Akobimah Assembly dates back to February 2003, when the congregation was established under the leadership of Pastor Emmanuel Asare. At the time, members worshipped in a classroom at the Akobimah Government School.
However, in 2008, Elder Samuel Henry Biney was moved by a strong conviction to help provide the growing congregation with a permanent and dignified place of worship. Together with his wife, he committed their personal resources to the ambitious project.
Land for the project was acquired through the combined efforts of Elder Biney and the local presbytery, with support from Mr. Jackson Enchill, Elder Peter Dontoh and Elder Emmanuel Tawiah.
The sod-cutting ceremony was performed by the then Mankessim District Pastor, Pastor T. T. Asare, with assistance from Pastor Benjamin Aboagye.
Construction commenced in earnest in 2012, with successive pastors and church leaders providing leadership and support at various stages of the project. The foundation was completed under Pastor Benjamin Aboagye, while Pastor Patrick Aryettey supervised the raising of the main structure.
Under the leadership of Pastor Emmanuel Turkson, the congregation eventually moved from the classroom and began worshipping under a shed within the premises of the uncompleted building.
The final phase of the project was completed under Pastor Clement Danso, whose partnership with Elder Biney helped provide the necessary spiritual support and momentum to bring the long-awaited vision to fruition.
The Akobimah Assembly has expressed profound gratitude to Elder Samuel Henry Biney and Deaconess Mrs. Grace Biney for their extraordinary sacrifice and generosity, describing their contribution as a lasting investment in the growth of God’s Kingdom.
Appreciation was also extended to the Area and pastoral leadership, the local presbytery, construction team, families of the donors and all persons who contributed in diverse ways to the successful completion of the project.
