Community transformation is one of the important aspects of the five-year vision of The Church of Pentecost, dubbed “Vision 2023.”

In response to this, the Berekum Area of The Church of Pentecost, led by Apostle Samuel Berko, has embarked on a massive Environmental Care Campaign which took place from 24th to 29th February 2020 in all the districts in the Area.

Stakeholder sensitization commenced from Monday to Thursday in schools, market places, radio stations, lorry stations, and other groups. There was a practical demonstration of how to keep and maintain a clean environment.

There were floats throughout the towns in the Area on Friday, 28th February, which ended with grand durbars of all stakeholders, including the security services.

The campaign was climaxed on Saturday, 29th February with thorough clean-up exercises in the streets, market places, lorry stations, refuse dumps and other places.

Apostle Samuel Berko, in addressing the participants, said God created human beings to be care-takers of the earth. He quoted from Genesis 2:15 and entreated the people to fulfill the mandate of caring for and keeping the environment to make it conducive to live in.

Also participating in the clean-up exercises were some Municipal and District Chief Executives, government officials, personnel of Zoomlion Ghana  Ltd, Assembly and Unit Committee members and members from sister churches, the Muslim community, among others.
