The much-anticipated annual conference of Pentecost Students and Associates, Ghana (PENSA-Ghana), dubbed “PENSA@40 Tertiary Conference,” was held from January 2 to 5, 2020 at Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh.

The conference, which was under the theme: “Grounding Young People In Christ; Showing Forth His Glory Among The Nations” (Ephesians 3:21, Colossians 2:6-7), aimed at equipping young members of the church to be firmly rooted in the Christian faith and unleash them into the world as agents of transformation.

This year’s PENSA-Ghana conference was a historic and a memorable one because it was the first to be organized under the leadership of Pastor Ebenezer Hagan as Youth Director of the church and it also marked the 40th anniversary of PENSA in The Church of Pentecost.

Opening the event on Thursday evening, Pastor Ebenezer Hagan commended the founding fathers of PENSA including Apostle J. S Gyimah (Retired), Apostle Prof. Peter Ohene Kyei (Retired), Elder Lawyer John Larkai, Elder Ken Aboah and Elder Emmanuel Anane Boate, among others, who he described as “brethren on fire”, for initiating the campus ministry in 1975 which has culminated into a vibrant and important wing of the Youth Ministry, in particular, and the Church, in general.

He also lauded all past directors of the Youth Ministry for efficiently steering the affairs of the ministry at various stages of its development to its current level.

Pastor Hagan, therefore, encouraged the youth to be grounded in the faith and avail themselves so that God would use them to build on the solid foundation that has been laid by their forebears.

Among the speakers for this conference were Apostle Eric Nyamekye (Chairman), Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh (Sefwi-Bekwa Area Head), Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin (Evangelism Director), Apostle Apostle Samuel Obuobi (Resident Minister, PIWC-Atomic) and Elder Amos Kevin-Annan (Deputy Youth Director).

Others were Professor Stephen Adei (Board Chairman, Ghana Revenue Authority), Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum (Deputy Education Minister), Hon. Kingsley Agyemang (Ghana Scholarship Secretariat), Elder Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong (Executive Chairman of Jospong Group), Pastor Joshua Donkor, Overseer Emmanuel Kyei Boate, Deaconess Grace Lucy Yeboah-Asuama (Women’s Director) and Deaconess Augustina Naami (Lecturer, University of Ghana).

The PENSA@40 conference also featured track sessions, aerobic session, the drama and praise night as well as the Ladies’ Hangout and Gents Code sessions.

In attendance were over 4000 participants drawn from the various PENSA branches in the tertiary institutions across the country. For the first time, persons with disabilities in the church were invited to participate in the conference. Also, present were some Members of the Executive Council including Apostle Samuel Asante, who doubles as the Youth Ministry Patron, as well as Executive Committee Members of the Youth Ministry, Travelling Secretaries and Youth Pastors and their spouses.
