It was all joy when the Winneba Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Professor Peter Ohene Kyei, inaugurated the Winneba branch of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) on Sunday, April 14, 2019.
The Area Head was assisted by the Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra-Badu, who is the immediate past Area Head of Winneba, as well as the Pastorate in the Area.
Apostle Prof. Ohene Kyei applauded the leadership and the entire members of the newly inaugurated district for their benevolence in support of the Kingdom business.
In a sermon on the topic, “The Church that Jesus Built” based on Matthew 16:15, Hebrews 10:25 and John 1:12, Apostle Ankra-Badu explained that, the church does not belong to anybody but Christ, because it was Jesus who shed His blood to purchase it. “Therefore, Jesus has the authority to declare that He will build His church,” he said.
The PEMEM Director stated that the church of Jesus consists of four elements which makes it whole. He asserted that, the church that Jesus built has the right members. Referring to John 1:12, he said those who qualify to be members of the church must believe in Jesus, belong to a fellowship and behave in accordance with the beliefs of the fellowship (1 Peter 2:1-2, Acts 11:26).
He also said that, the church that Jesus built has the right message, saying, “The Christian message is centered on Christ, His redemption, love and salvation.”
He further said the church that Jesus built has the right mission which is in two folds- glorifying God which is a daily activity, and propagating His gospel (Matthew 5:13-15). “Until you worship, you will never know your mission,” he added.
Apostle Ankra-Badu also said that, the church that Jesus built has the right master which is Jesus Himself.
The occasion was used to dedicate a church bus and also cut the sod for the commencement of PIWC-Winneba auditorium. The land for the project was donated by Pastor Samuel Acquah Sampson of Amanfrom District in the Achimota Area who is a native of Winneba.
