It was a glorious and joyous moment when hundreds of people gathered at the Mount Olives Assembly of The Church of Pentecost in Twifo Praso District of the Assin Foso Area on Saturday, January 19, 2019, to witness the first mass wedding involving three couples in the district.

The couples who have been married under the customary law for many years sought to rededicate and bring their marriages before the Lord as well as exchange vows to be together forever.

Preaching the sermon at the service on the topic, “What a Good Marriage is About,” Elder P. H. Indome, observed that marriages that are built on the word of God are able to withstand the pressures of the marriage journey and therefore becomes a testimony for others.

He identified virtues such as love, understanding, respect and trust, as the pillars to successful marriages, adding that, “couples who exhibit these qualities will never regret in their life-long journey.”

Elder Indome called on husbands to show appreciation to their wives for their tireless efforts in supporting their families. He also asked men to encourage their wives to develop their God-given talents and skills to enable them excel in life.

He admonished the couples to let go any form of differences they may have had prior to the wedding. “This is a new chapter in your marriage life and so you need to start afresh to enjoy the journey. Value the opinion of your husband or wife, and God will help you to enjoy your marriage,” he stressed.

The District Minister, Pastor Vincent Ephraim Amegah, who officiated the ceremony commended the couples for coming together to seek the face of God in their marriages. He used the opportunity to encourage those who have not blessed their marriages as well as would-be couples to consider mass wedding since it’s cost effective.

“The beauty of this mass wedding is that less is spent for a glorious and lifetime ceremony,” he stated.
