The Techiman Area of The Church of Pentecost on Saturday, August 10, 2019, inaugurated its Professionals Guild.

The launch, which occurred at the Dwomor Central Assembly, was officiated by the Area Head, Apostle Julius Franklin Asante-Ayeh, with support from the Pastorate in the Area.

Addressing the congregants at the event, Apostle Asante-Ayeh said the Professionals Guild concept is in line with the 5-year vision of the Church, which is “Possessing the Nations: Equipping the Church to transform every sphere of society with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.”

He explained that the “Possessing the Nations” agenda of the Church requires that Christians envisage church as a place where they go to receive teachings, values and principles of God and go out to practice them in their homes, at their workplaces, bus stations and everywhere they find themselves.

“Church is just a place where we come to restore and revive ourselves so that we can go back into the world to possess and overcome it. Indeed, we must remember that we are the light of the world and salt of the earth,” he reiterated.

He added: “We must bring our forces together as professionals within the church so that we can shine wherever we find ourselves.”

In his brief exhortation on the topic, “On the Side of Truth,” based on John 18:37-38 and 1 Kings 18:21, 25, 30-33, he said, “When Israel had come under the dominion of Baal, Elijah stood on the side of truth and contested the priests of Baal.”

Apostle Asante-Ayeh explained that the contest between Elijah and the prophets of Baal was a contest of truth, because the prophets of Baal held the notion that their god was all-powerful. However, he said, Elijah knew the truth, and the truth was that all power and might belong to the Lord God Almighty and He alone controls all things.

“But Elijah knew the truth and therefore trusted God to bring down the fire, and truly while he was still praying, fire came down and consumed the sacrifice with the altar,” he added.

He, therefore, encouraged believers to stand on the side of truth as Elijah did. “You are being sent into the world as agents of transformation, to stand on the side of truth. If a majority of us Ghanaians are Christians then corrupt acts and social vices must diminish,” he posited.
