The Women’s Ministry of Yennyawoso District in the New Tafo Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated assorted items worth GH₵ 3,000.00 to the Kumasi Children’s Home located at Airport Roundabout in Kumasi.

A delegation led by Mrs. Agnes Adu-Amankwaah (Wife of the District Minister) and Deaconess Deborah Ntim (Area Women’s Ministry Leader) visited the facility on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, and donated some items including 3 bags of rice, 4 packets of biscuit, drinks, toiletries, soaps, diapers, 12 boxes of Kalypo, footwear, disinfectants, secondhand clothes, 2 pieces of wax print, 10 sachets of water, 2 baskets of bread, among others, to the inmates.

The Social Development Officer of the Facility, Miss Georgina Aidoo, who received the items on behalf of the management, thanked The Church of Pentecost, particularly the Women’s Ministry for the benevolence. She noted that the items would go a long way to alleviate the plight of the inmates.

In an interview with PENTECOST NEWS, Deaconess Dorothy Bediako, the District Women’s Ministry Leader, said the gesture was a demonstration of concern and love towards individuals who are in dire need of assistance in the society. This, according to her, is in fulfilment of the divine charge in James 1:27 which enjoins Christians to visit the needy, orphans and vulnerable in distress.

As part of the visit, Mrs Cecilia Oppong, the Deputy Supervisor of the Institute, took the women around to see the inmates and fraternize with them.

Present at the brief presentation ceremony were: Deaconesses Anne Tandoh (District Women’s Assistant Leader), Janet Appau (District Women’s Secretary), Georgina Prempeh (District Women’s Treasurer), Monica Boakye (District Women’s Financial Secretary), all local Women’s Ministry Executive Members, among others.
