What Else Could God Have Done With The Chairman That Hasn’t Been Done – Apostle Dr Ntumy Pays Emotional Tribute To Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah

The former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Michael Ntumy has commended the outgoing Chairman of the Church, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah for the exemplary leadership he has offered the Church for the last ten years.

In a remark during the just-ended 43rd General Council Meetings at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) on Friday, May 4, 2018, a teary Apostle Dr Ntumy commended his successor for allowing himself to be used to accomplish extraordinary feats for the Church; describing his tenure as the “golden age of the Church”.

“When I look back on the past 10 years, I cannot help but find tears running down my cheeks. Then I ask, what else could God have done with the Chairman of the Church which has not been done? Looking around, what would the Church have expected of a Chairman than what has been achieved?”

“My joy is great and I consider my tears a sacrifice of praise to the living God who has kept me alive to see the glory of the Lord in this day. I praise the Lord for this and I rejoice in the goodness of the Lord.”

“I congratulate our beloved Chairman, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, on this amazing work that he has allowed the Lord to use him to do. If we are writing, and I know we are still writing [the history of the Church], but I declare this period (the tenure of Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah) the golden age of the Church where the Lord has done so much to His glory,” he said as he choked on his tears.

Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah and his wife, Grace, as well as many others in the audience, were moved to tears as Apostle Dr Michael Ntumy gave his emotional speech, which was in contrast to the lively and joyous atmosphere that characterized the entire event.

Apostle Dr Ntumy became the youngest Chairman of The Church of Pentecost at age 40 when he was elected into the highest office of the Church in 1998. He handed over the baton of leadership to Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah in 2008 after serving for two terms. He, however, came under severe attacks after being falsely accused of taking a stance against directive prophecy in the selection of his successor.

Apostle Dr Ntumy is based in Germany and currently serves as the Director of Literary Works of The Church of Pentecost.
