The Hohoe Area Head and Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng, has urged Christians to remain in Christ and be faithful in their walk with Him in order not to miss out on Heaven and its rewards.
According to him, there are five crowns believers will receive as the reward for their good works when they succeed in the Christian race. They are the Incorruptible Crown, Crown of Life, Crown of Righteous, Crown of Glory and Crown of Rejoicing.
Apostle Adjei-Kwarteng revealed this on June 24, 2018, during the climax of the Eschatology Conference of the Alajo District under the leadership of Pastor Paul Yanney.
Reading from 1 Corinthians 9:25, the Hohoe Area Head touched on the Incorruptible Crown, which will be given to believers who deny themselves of the pleasures of the world. He explained that these are the people who only live for Christ by doing His will.
He urged members to walk in wisdom and not indulge in foolish acts since as believers not everything is permissible to them. He said that practices like homosexuality, lesbianism, viewing pornographic materials; gossip; fornication, adultery, among others that give pleasure to the body but impoverishes the soul must be avoided at all cost.
Quoting Ecclesiastes 2:14 he urged believers to rather store wholesome things in their minds and hearts.
Apostle Yaw Adjei-Kwarteng also spoke about the Crown of Life, which will be awarded to believers who are able to persevere and endure hardship or trials to the end for the sake of Christ. (James 1:12).
He explained that there is a clear difference between temptation and trial. According to him, while a temptation is dependent on the individual’s feelings and emotions; a trial is a test from God to refine a believer’s faith. However, the reward of a trial can only be realised after the individual has been able to endure to the end. (1 Peter 1: 6- 7.)
“God tests believers according to their ability. Therefore, there is no trial bigger than you except that which completely fits you. So not give up or be in a hurry to get out of a trial, rather allow God’s will to be established,” he said.
He explained that Joseph and Job, did no wrong to deserve what they both went through and had every reason or the opportunity to compromise their faith, yet they were careful not to. They rather stood firm in those trials for the sake of Christ and in the end, God glorified Himself in them.
Apostle Adjei-Kwarteng further touched on the Crown of Righteousness, which, he said, will be awarded to those who long for the second coming of Jesus Christ. He noted that such individuals live for eternity, and not for perishable things. They are always heaven-conscious and not earthly-minded. (2 Timothy 4: 8)
He further noted that there is also the Crown of Glory, which will be awarded to Pastors, Deacons, Deaconesses, and other church officials who are faithful stewards or shepherds to the flocks entrusted to them. (1 Peter 5: 4). He also revealed that church leaders will be rewarded according to how diligently they dispatched their duties or roles.
The Crown of Rejoicing, on the other hand, will be awarded to soul winners. “This particular crown is available to evangelists or soul witnesses, who do due diligence to Great Commission,” he noted.
