The Achimota Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Joseph Kwame Assabil, has entreated Christians to understand the basics of their faith in Christ in order to be well-grounded in Him.
Apostle Assabil, a member of the Executive Council, said this in a sermon at the Pentecost International Worship Centre at Ho (PIWC, Ho) on Sunday, February 18, 2018.
Teaching on the third tenet of the Church, “Man’s Depraved Nature” with scripture references from Genesis 1:26-30; 6:3-5; Isaiah 1:1-6 and Jeremiah 13:23, Apostle Assabil explained how God created man in His own image, gave him authority and dominion and had a good relationship with him.
According to him, man had an aspect of God in him but never equal to God. He however said sin caused a separation between God and man, thereby losing the glory that God had clothed man with.
He said sin corrupted man, hence the need for a saviour in the person of Jesus Christ to redeem humanity from their depraved nature.
He emphasized that salvation is a total package of deliverance and Christians must hold on to this simple truth.
He entreated believers to endeavour to experience God personally by going to Him through prayer and studying of His word.
