Teshie-Nungua Area Gets New Youth Pastor

The Youth Ministry of the Teshie-Nungua Area of The Church of Pentecost has welcomed its new Area Youth Pastor, Ebenezer Agyapong, who also doubles as the Resident Minister for Graceland Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Nungua.

Pastor Agyapong replaced Pastor Ebenezer Amartey Ahuakese who has been transferred to PIWC SSNIT, Dansoman.

The special meeting took place at the Agnes Boahemaa Gyimah Memorial Temple at Nungua recently.

In an exhortation, Pastor Agyapong encouraged all district executives to study the Bible in order not to be deceived by false teachers. According to him, it is his passion to ensure that all young people become ardent students of the Bible.

“Youth workers should make time for the Bible,” he said, adding, “Social media is good, but it is also a great distraction and as such young people should not spend all their time engaging friends on social media.”

He read from 1 Samuel 22:2 and said David’s followers included people who were distressed, people in debt and those who were discontented.

“In today’s churches, we have young people who are distressed, in debt and are discontent in our midst and we should be able to manage all of them,” he said, adding, “David managed the people until their numbers increased. They later became the mighty men of David.”

Pastor Agyapong challenged the ministry leaders to be steadfast irrespective of the challenges they face in dealing with the youth, saying, “The difficult young people you are managing today may be the great heroes of tomorrow.”

“Youth work is interesting. You are working with young men and women whose destinies are yet unfolding; make sure you do the right thing with them,” he said.

Pastor Agyapong was the PENSA Travelling Secretary in the Takoradi Area. He has also served as the Resident Minister of PIWC-Cape Coast and the immediate past National Quiz Master of the Youth Ministry. He is married to Grace and they are blessed with four children.
