Teshie-Nungua Area Builds Najong Mission House, Church Building

A four-bedroom mission house for Najong District in the Walewale Area of The Church of Pentecost fully funded by the Teshie-Nungua Area has been dedicated.

The edifice worth GH¢111,750.00 was dedicated by the Walewale Area Head, Evangelist Francis Yaw Adu, on August 31, 2018. The ceremony coincided with the dedication of the local church auditorium worth GH¢42,220.00 also funded by ministers in the Teshie-Nungua Area.

It would be recalled that ministers and wives of the Teshie-Nungua Area, led by the Area Head, Prophet James Osei Amaniampong, an Executive Council Member, visited the Walewale Area in November 2017. They were moved by the deplorable state of the Najong District mission house which was badly leaking anytime it rained.

Touched by the plight of the district, Prophet Amaniampong, his wife Georgina and the ministers in the Teshie-Nungua Area collectively pledged to support the district to construct a new mission house.

The foundation stone of the building was laid on February 6, 2018, with the actual construction beginning on March 20, 2018. Members of Najong District supported the project with stones and unskilled labour.

Prophet Amaniampong was represented at the dedication service by Pastors Frank Oppong of Nungua District and Joshua Awuku-Dzokoto of East Airport.

In a sermon, Pastor Frank Oppong exhorted the gathering on the topic: “Do Not Despise The Day’s Small Things.” Making reference to Job 8:5-7, he noted that one may begin very small, but if he/she seeks the face of God and lives pure life, God will cause his/her end to be great.

He said that The Church of Pentecost, for instance, began in classrooms, under trees and in people’s homes. However, the Church can appreciate God now for magnificent church buildings and other big assets.

The dedication service was attended by Chief Haruna Nasinmong Laar, Paramount Chief of Bankoni Traditional Area and his elders as well as Najong chief.
