The Walewale Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Evangelist Francis Yaw Adu, has admonished believers to strive to experience the reality of Pentecost [the Holy Spirit power].
He noted that Pentecost comes with certain experiences which transform the life of the believer. He therefore encouraged the members not to just take Pentecost as a name or a festival as was done by the people in the Old Testament, but instead endeavour to have a feel of the experiences that Pentecost brings which was experienced by the Apostles and the 120 on the Day of Pentecost.
Evangelist Francis Adu said this in a sermon when he and his wife Esther visited the Wulugu District on Friday, October 12, 2018, as part of the activities marking the Walewale Area ‘Holy Ghost Month’ for the month of October.
Speaking on the topic, “Experiencing the Reality of Pentecost,” the Area Head admonished the members not to just only associate themselves with the church without experiencing the real power of Pentecost.
Taking his readings from the Book of Acts 2: 1-4, Evangelist Adu explained that Pentecost is a “wind experience” which symbolises breath of life, thus the creative power of God. He further stressed that Pentecost is of a “fire experience, experience of the fullness of the Holy Spirit, the experience of speaking in tongues and the prayer experience.”
The Area Head then led the members through prayers for them to experience the reality of Pentecost, where 15 members were baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues for the first time, while eight others received divine healing. Two deaconesses were healed of asthma and stomach ulcer respectively.
The District Minister for Wulugu, Overseer Daniel Nartey Blebo and his wife Esther, on behalf of the members and presbytery of the district, thanked the Area Head for the visit.
