The Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra-Badu, has paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Goaso Traditional Area, Nana Akwasi Bosompra I.
The Director and his team, comprising his wife Rosina, were led to the palace by the Goaso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Isaac Kwasi Amoako. The visit to the palace formed part of his recent working visit to some Areas in the Brong Ahafo Region to run leadership training for leaders of the Ministry.
Addressing the chiefs, the PEMEM Director applauded the Goasomanhene for his leadership style which has won him many honours, saying, “In our generation, people are looking up to honest and faithful men like you [the Paramount Chief] who will always stand by nothing but the truth.”
Apostle Ankra-Badu noted that in most jurisdictions in Africa, women have almost taken over the leadership roles from men due to laxity on the part of some men in the society. He however said that men in The Church of Pentecost are waking up to their responsibilities, through consistent impartation of leadership. He assured the Omanhene of the prayers of the Church for him and the people of his land.
The Omanhene, Nana Akwasi Bosompra I, on his part, thanked the leadership of The Church of Pentecost for their cooperation in the development of the Goaso Traditional Area. He urged the Church to continue to empower its members, especially the men, to exhibit exemplary leadership for the development of the nation. He stated that men are the pillars of the Church and society, because they were created in the image and the glory of God.
From Goaso, the PEMEM Director continued his leadership training regimen for PEMEM leaders in the newly created Tepa Area, on October 25, 2018.
Speaking at an Area Joint Service, Apostle Ankra-Badu entreated Christians to revisit the popular wise sayings of King Solomon in Proverbs 6:6, “Go to the Ant, you sluggard, consider its ways and be wise.” Emphasizing on the leadership lessons and philosophies of the Ant, he called on Christians, especially men to be resolute in all that they do.
According to the PEMEM Director, one significant lesson about the Ant worth emulating is its ‘never quit’ spirit, as Ants always stay positive and think ahead. He therefore called on men to learn from the tiny creature by going the extra mile in all their endeavours in order to make it in life.
Apostle Ankra-Baduh further admonished men to do everything possible to stay away from corruption, since it is a canker that destroys nations. He also touched on other social issues like the quest for power, worth, fame, among others, which can also destroy nations, families and churches.
He advised men and Christians in general to ensure that they demonstrate integrity in their everyday lives, as integrity will always give birth to success.
