The Pentecost Preparatory School (PPS) in Nkoranza-Kissiman District of The Church of Pentecost in Techiman Area has held its 1st speech and prize-giving day.
The event which took place on 30th November, 2017 at the school premises at Kissiman in the Nkoranza Municipality, was under the theme: “Education, The Hallmark of Success and Excellence.”
The spectacular occasion was graced by numerous dignitaries. Among them were: Apostle Julius Franklin Asante Ayeh (Techiman Area Head), Elder George Afrifa (PENTSOS Director), and Pastor Samuel Essel (Kissiman District Minister).
Others were: Professor Nsiah Gyabaah (Vice Chancellor of the Anglican University College, Nkoranza), Hon. Charles Konadu-Yiadom (MP for Nkoranza South) and the Nkoranza Municipal Director of Education, among others.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Florence Essel, in her address, said the school began in the year 2012 through the initiative of the then District minister, Pastor Emmanuel Danna, with two boys and two girls.
According to her, the population of the school currently stands at 576. She applauded the supports of the Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS), the Techiman Area of the Church and various stakeholders to the development of the school.
Apostle J. F. Asante-Ayeh, on his part, expressed his delight for the good work done by the school management, especially the headmistress and her husband, Pastor Samuel Essel.
There were various display of talents by the pupils which included poetry recitals, cultural dance, drama, choral music and choreography. Pupils with sterling academic performance were awarded.
