Jesus Christ Is Our Saviour, Fortress And Rock – Apostle David Tekper Tells Christians

The Achimota Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle David Tettey Tekper, has advised believers to give unceasing praise to God for His goodness throughout the year.

Speaking on the theme, “You Who Are Highly Favoured, The Lord Is With You As A Saviour,” at the climax of the Achimota District 2018 Christmas Convention on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the Achimota Park, Apostle Tekper quoted from Luke 1:28, 68-79 and explained the various ways God revealed Himself as a Saviour to different people at different times.

Touching on the meaning of a Saviour, he stated, “A saviour is a direct agent of God sent to intervene in the affairs of men to fulfil God’s greater purpose in their lives.”

According to him, “every messenger sent by God has a purpose and Christ Jesus was given to the world to be the Saviour.” He also noted that Christ Jesus came purposely to save humanity from their sins.

Referring to 2 Samuel 22:1-3, he stated, “King David gave us another revelation of who a Saviour is. When King Saul hated and pursued to kill him, David sang about his Saviour as a fortress who keeps him from violent men.”

“Jesus Christ has been given to us as a fortress. When the billows roar and the raging storms arise, He will keep us safe,” he asserted.

Apostle David Tekper indicated that “the world is full of darkness but as Christians, Jesus Christ is our light and for this reason, no wickedness in the darkness will prevail over us.”

“Don’t worry too much; all that you need to do is to abide in Jesus Christ, He is our stronghold, our rock, our shield, our deliverer, our Redeemer and He is able to keep all that we commit into His hands,” he said.

He concluded by urging all those who are heavy laden and weary to come to Jesus Christ and He will give them rest.

Present at the service were Pastor Jonathan and Mrs Regina Kofie, the Achimota District Minister and wife, Honourable Elizabeth Sackey, the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, among others.
