The Women’s Director of The Church of Pentecost, Deaconess Grace Lucy Yeboah-Asuama, has challenged Christians to dare to be different by demonstrating a life full of integrity.
Speaking on the topic, “Dare To Be Different, Walk In Integrity,” at the ongoing 22nd Head Office Management and Staff Retreat of The Church of Pentecost at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Deaconess Yeboah-Asuama urged Christians to aim at leading an honest life.
Quoting from Genesis 39:1-20; Job 2:7-10; Matthew 5:1-16, among other Scriptures, she pointed out that believers have no option than to be people of integrity because they have Christ in them.
According to her, Jesus through His sermon on the mount taught the people kingdom principles, which is all about integrity.
She explained that for one to be happy in life, he/she needs to live by the kingdom principles. “The circumstances surrounding us must not determine our happiness. Your happiness does not depend on any individual, it depends on the kingdom principles. So if you want to be happy then try to obey and live by the kingdom principles,” she added.
The Women’s Director also called on Christians to be the salt of the world by affecting and influencing society positively, saying, “We should be able to affect the lives of the people within our communities. Salt has a medicinal property which helps in healing wounds. If we want to change society we should be like salt. We can influence the society we live in.”
Citing Joseph in the house of Potiphar, she said the young man stood by his integrity and avoid committing adultery with Potiphar’s wife when the woman pestered him with sex.
She said just like Joseph who faced a lot of trouble for holding on to his integrity, Christians who want to hold their integrity are likely to face persecutions.
She added that Job also went through hard times in life when a barrage of disasters struck him amidst betrayal by his own wife, friends, and many others, but he still stood his grounds and maintained his integrity.
“We need to live by the kingdom principles and values. For our light to shine we need to remain focus on Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in order to become a beacon of hope that will lead many people to Christ,” she said.
