Churches Do Not Transform Nations, Righteousness Does – Apostle Nyamekye

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has stated that churches do not transform nations, rather it is righteous living that exalts a nation.

According to him, although there are many churches in Ghana, if Christians do not commit to righteous living, they cannot influence the country positively.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye said this when he addressed participants of the ongoing 22nd Head Office Management and Staff Residential Retreat on Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh, near Kasoa in the Central Region.

Reading from Proverbs 14:34, Apostle Eric Nyamekye urged Christians not to be holy only in the church but equally endeavour to live pious lifestyles outside the church in order to transform the nations.

Touching on the purpose of the Church of God, Apostle Eric Nyamekye said that the Church is not the ultimate goal of God but a means to His desired end.

Quoting from Ephesians 3:10, the Chairman said that God’s intent for building the Church is to make His manifold wisdom known to the people of all nations so that all the kingdoms of the world would revere Him as the King of kings, Lord of lords and the One True God.

He also said that the Church is the most important tool that God is using to thwart the plans of the principalities and powers of the world.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, therefore, urged Christians, particularly members of The Church of Pentecost, to regard the church as an equipping centre, where they are equipped with the values and principles of God to live righteous lives in the world and influence society.

The 22nd Head Office Management & Staff Retreat of The Church of Pentecost is under the theme: “I Will Build My Church” (Matthew 16:18, Titus 2:14:15). The three-day event is the first one being chaired by the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye.
