The Agormanya Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle James Gabriel Quardson, has admonished Christians to sensitize themselves more about the second coming of Christ during Christmas, even though it is generally a period to reminisce the birth of Christ.

Apostle Quardson said this on Sunday, 23rd December, 2018, during the climax of the 2018 Christmas Convention of the Sekesua District.

Preaching on the topic, “Behold the Son of God, the World’s Only Hope and Saviour,” the Area Head read from Luke 2:25-32, Matthew 1:21 and John 3:16.

Using Simeon as a case study, Apostle Quardson stated that those who look forward to the second coming of Jesus Christ are righteous and also fear God.

He beseeched Christians not to consider Christmas as merry making, rather it should be a time to reflect on their standing in Christ, and devout themselves to obeying the word of God.

“Whilst we are longing to inherit the city being prepared for us by our Saviour Jesus in the next life, we should not love the world and its pleasures,” he stressed.

According to Apostle Quardson, the greatest gift the world has ever received from God is Jesus Christ, the light of the world, saying, “Christ is the only one through whom humanity can see and know God. Everyone who acknowledges Christ as his or her hope and salvation has a message full of revelation.”

Referring to the new five-year strategic vision of the Church (Vision 2023), Apostle Quardson stated that without a proper revelation and understanding of the message of Christ, nations cannot be possessed for Christ. “It is by the gospel message that we can save the lost who are wallowing in the dark world,” he said.

Concluding, Apostle J. G. Quardson encouraged Christians to be steadfast in their faith and not fall to the pressures and the trials they face while awaiting the second coming of Christ. “Christians should not be shaken but hold firmly to Christ as their hope and Saviour,” he stressed.
