The Techiman Area Youth Pastor of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Kwame Apeakese Pipim, has called on the youth to ascribe to discipline in their daily endeavours so as to attain their goals in life.

“According to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, Christians constitute 71.2 per cent of the country’s population, yet corruption is everywhere and we blame the few politicians in the country for this. This is why our Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye has stated that the Church is to be blamed and not politicians,” he elaborated.

Pastor Pipim said this during an interaction with the youth of Wenchifie District dubbed “Time With Area Youth Pastor” on November 12, 2018, at Wenchiefie.

Speaking on the topic: “Discipline” with biblical references from Hebrews 12:4-11 and Proverbs 3:11-12, Pastor Pipim defined discipline as the trait of being well behaved, the act of being punished, or the act of receiving training to improve strength and self-control.

He alluded to two biblical characters: Joseph and Job, whom he said were guided by discipline such that they refused to sin against God even in their toughest moments.

“We see in Genesis 39:7-20, how Joseph controlled his sexual urge in Potiphar’s house by not fornicating with Potiphar’s wife,” he added.

The Youth Pastor lamented how indiscipline has become the order of the day stating that “discipline is a big societal problem among contemporary youth in Ghana and sometimes the Christians amongst them forget that they are the salt and light of the world.”

Pastor Pipim, who doubles as the Resident Minister of PIWC-Techiman, further noted that God is a disciplinarian and that discipline is one of the key indicators of God’s love towards humanity (Hebrews 12:4-11).

“Discipline may not seem pleasant especially to the one meted to but it is for our own good because indiscipline makes one an illegitimate child of God,” he explained.

Concluding his message, Pastor Kwame Apeakese Pipim challenged the youth to be disciplined and view discipline as a tool for promoting peace, righteousness, self-development and success.
