Christian Kings, Queens Celebrate Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah

The Christian Kings and Queens Association International has conferred a chieftaincy title on Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, the immediate past Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, in recognition of his sterling leadership and support for the chieftaincy institution in Ghana.

Now known as Apostle Prof. Nana Kwadwo Nimfour Opoku Onyinah, the group also made him the Life Patron of the association.

The ceremony to honour the respected clergyman and statesman was held at the AH Hotel, East Legon in Accra, on September 12, 2018. It was chaired by Nana Adutwumwaa Dokua, the Okyehemaa.

Speaking at the event, the Paramount Chief of Suma Traditional Area in the Brong Ahafo Region, Odeneho Elder Dr. Affram Brempong III, said that kingship comes from God and it is totally agreeable to involve Christ in royal matters.

He explained that the association decided to honour the former Chairman in respect of the benefits it has received from his ministry. He added that in order not to miss his good counsel, the decided to keep him close to the association by honouring him with a stool name and making him the life patron.

Apostle Prof. Nana Kwadwo Nimfour Opoku Onyinah, in his response, thanked God and Nananom for the great honour done him and his family.

He stressed the need for Christians to involve themselves in chieftaincy issues to transform the institution since they are the salt and light of the world.

The former Chairman however expressed concern that some Christians do not understand the chieftaincy institution. He was hopeful that God will help believers to understand the concept of the institution and embrace it.

He explained that while in ministry he encouraged many Christian royals to accept the responsibility of leading their communities to bring about dynamism in the chieftaincy institution.

This, Apostle Prof. Nana Kwadwo Nimfour Opoku Onyinah said, brought about the Royals Conference which is spearheaded by the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM).

He promised to consistently support Nananom in their endeavours.

The President of the Christian Kings and Queens Association International, Deaconess Nana Kofi Abuna V, who also doubles as the Chief of Essipong, said members of the group meet every month to pray for divine strength and wisdom in order to provide excellent leadership in their various areas of jurisdiction.

The colourful ceremony was attended by traditional rulers from various parts of the country, the clergy, including the PEMEM Director, Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra-Badu, among others.
