Berekum PIWC Builds Toilet Facility For Biadan Community

The Berekum branch of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), in collaboration with Compassion International Ghana, has built a 12-seater modern toilet facility for the Biadan community, near Berekum in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The water-closet facility with sinks for handwashing and an overhead water tank was part of the Church’s social responsibility to the community.

The Church with the support of Compassion International Ghana has also established a Child Development Centre in the community to help bring children out of poverty by building their spiritual, physical, socio-economic and cognitive abilities.

The construction of the toilet facility has brought to an end the open defecation issue which was a major health concern facing the community.

The chiefs and the Assembly member of the town were full of appreciation to the Church for taking steps to meet such an important need in the community.

Dedicating the facility on November 18, 2018, the Berekum Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Anthony Kingsley Miah, admonished the community members to take good care of the facility in order to serve its intended purpose.

Reading from Genesis 2:15, Apostle Miah said just as God instructed Adam to take good care of the Garden of Eden, it is the responsibility of the people to also do everything possible to keep the facility neat and convenient for use by all people.

In attendance were Pastor Andrews Eshun (Area Secretary), members and officers of the PIWC, and the community members, among others.

Report by Pastor Solomon Azagisiya, Berekum.
