The Banda District in the Kete -Krachi Area of The Church of Pentecost has held 7-day Fasting and Prayer Conference dubbed “Prayerfest 2018”.

The conference, which was held from Monday, October 22, to Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Banda, was well attended by members from all the 13 assemblies in the district as well as the area pastorate. The event was under the theme: “Arise Unto Prayer, Your Restoration Is Now,” taken from Luke 15:18.

Speaking on the topic “The Prayer of the Prodigal Son” based on Luke 15:11-18 on the first day of the event, the Banda District Minister, Pastor Joel Y. K. Beddim, revealed that Sin of Commission and Sin of Mission are types of sins.

In his sermon, explained that Sin of Commission is a sin that is committed by an individual intentionally (deliberately). The sin of omission, on the other hand, he explained is the kind of sin that is committed due to one’s reluctance to do the right thing.

He, however, emphasized that regardless the sin perpetrated by an individual in the past, God is ever-willing to forgive them of their sins only if they acknowledge the wrong they have done and genuinely repent.

“God is just to forgive our sins but we must first take the initiative to confess them,” he affirmed.

The Kpandai District Minister, Pastor Francis Kwame Amewondey, who was the speaker for the second day, spoke on the topic, “Touch Me One More Time With The Anointing,” based on Judges 16:28-29. He also stated the various types of anointing saying that: “The Lepers Anointing is for cleansing, Priesthood Anointing is for service and the Kingly Anointing is for power.”

On the third day of the event, Pastor Savior Gomela of Borae District, spoke on the topic, “The Prayer of Elisha” with scripture reference from 2 Kings 6:16-18. He encouraged members to be fearless because they have the Holy Spirit within them and are also privileged to be sons and daughters of God.

Overseer Ernest Seko of Ketiejeli District of the Church spoke on the topic “Call On Your God” (Jonah 1:6; 2:1-10) on Thursday, October 25, 2018. In his sermon, he said that God has called and given Christians a specific assignment to preach the gospel and possess the nations for Him.

“If Christians will respond positively to this call and go all out to influence their homes, workplaces, businesses and others positively, the image of Christ would be reflected everywhere in the world,” he admonished.

On the fifth day of the event, Pastor Joel Beddim delivered a sermon titled “The Just Shall Live By Faith” taken from Hebrews 10:38 and Hebrews 11:6. He challenged Christians to hold on to the faith which has been delivered to them especially in these times of false prophets and their false teachings.

The Banda PrayerFest 2018 was climaxed on Sunday, October 28, with an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on members and the mighty hand of God greatly felt in the midst of the people.
