NEW TOWN CHURCH BUILDING

Anum New Town Assembly CBCB Dedicated

The New Town Assembly of Anum Apapam District in Suhum Area of The Church of Pentecost has within three months completed and dedicated its Community-Based Church Building (CBCB) at the total cost of GH¢54,148.

The 150-seater church building was dedicated by Apostle Anthony Eghan Kwesi Ekuban, the Suhum Area Head, assisted by the Anum Apapam District Minister, Pastor Gabriel Nti, on December 27, 2018.

The New Town Assembly was carved out of the Okanta and Sowatey assemblies in 1999 by the then District Minister, Pastor H.N. Nartey. The Assembly acquired two plots of land in 2002 under the leadership of Elder Joseph Okyere.

In August 2018, the assembly received a CBCB grant of GH¢40,000.00 from the Headquarters of the Church to commence the project, with Apostle Ekuban performing the sod cutting on September 23, 2018.

Delivering the sermon at the dedication service on the topic, “I Am a Livingstone for God’s Building” with Bible texts taken from 1 Peter 2:4-5 and 1 Corinthians 3:9, Pastor Norman Appiah Danquah (District Minister of Suhum),  admonished Christians to refrain from sins which could destabilize their faith in Christ.

Pastor Norman explained that although stones do not have life, the Bible described Christians as living stones, saying that there is a mystery behind this assertion. He added that Christians do not live to themselves but have been sanctified to live for Christ in order to fulfill God’s purpose, saying, “Any person who has accepted Christ is a living stone.”

He explained that temptations that bedevil the present generation are very dangerous and cunning. He admonished Christians to always look up unto Christ, the Livingstone.

Pastor Norman reiterated that the name given to a house depicts what actually transpire in it and that Christians should always portray Christ-like attitudes in all their endeavours.

In his submission, the Area Head, Apostle Anthony Eghan Kwesi Ekuban, called on Christians to rely on God alone since they cannot afford to disappoint Him.

As part of service, the wife of the Area Head, Mrs. Jennifer Ekuban, donated three ceiling fans to be used in the new building.
