43rd General Council Meeting Ends

The 43rd General Council Meetings of The Church of Pentecost which took place at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, has come to a close.

The event officially started on Tuesday, May 1, and ended on Friday, May 4, 2018, under the theme: “Remain in Christ and His Basic Message,” taken from 1 John 2:24-25.

This year’s General Council Meeting was the last to be chaired by the current Chairman, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, who retires on August 26 after successfully completing his 10-year tenure as Chairman and serving in the full-time ministry for the past 42 years.

Among the major highlights of this year’s meeting was the election of the 6th Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye to succeed the outgoing Chairman. It also saw the re-election of the incumbent General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi.

Apostle Ousmane Patinde Zabre (National Head of Togo), Apostle Dr Daniel Okyere Walker (Rector of Pentecost University College), Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi (Tarkwa Area Head) and Prophet David Kankam (Swedru Area Head), were also elected to serve on the Executive Council. They replaced Apostles Dr Alfred Koduah (Takoradi Area Head) and Apostle Ekow Badu Wood (Asokwa Area Head), who have both served on the Executive Council for 15 and 10 years respectively.

Also, there were new appointments and callings into higher offices of the Church (Offices of Apostle, Area Head and Missions).

The 43rd General Council Meeting will remain in the annals of the Church as the most celebrated council meeting ever organised in the Church.
