The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has emphasized that disobedience to God inadvertently honours the devil.

“Whenever you believe in anything over God’s word, you invite trouble,” Apostle Obuobi said. “By obeying the devil, Adam and Eve honoured him, and their disobedience to God resulted in separation from God, bringing death and loss of glory.”

He made this remark during a fellowship with members of the Bethel Assembly in the New Juaben District of The Church of Pentecost on Gospel Sunday.

Speaking on the topic “The Door of Salvation,” Apostle Obuobi used John 10:9 as a key scripture reference, explaining that the need for salvation began in the Garden of Eden, when man first disobeyed God’s command.

He highlighted that God’s creation was perfect until Adam and Eve chose to believe the devil over God’s word.

He emphasized that Jesus Christ is the only door to salvation, citing John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Apostle Obuobi reminded the congregation that there is no other way to be saved—Jesus alone is the mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

“The testimony of God is that eternal life is found in His Son alone,” he stated. “Jesus is the exclusive way to salvation, but He is open to all who call on His name in faith (Romans 10:13).”

The General Secretary pointed out that the door of salvation is open to everyone who seeks Jesus, as He is the only access point for salvation (John 10:9). However, he also cautioned that the door will one day be closed, referencing Luke 13:25-27: “When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ But He will answer, ‘I do not know you.’”

Apostle Obuobi warned that the opportunity for salvation will not last forever. “The door to salvation is open now, but when the rapture comes or when death calls, that door will be closed,” he said.
