A member of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Sunyani, Mr. Joseph Adomako Junior, has been elected President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the university.

Joseph, a Level 300 Computer Science student, is an executive member of the PENSA-UENR Youth Political Chamber and was once the Chief Clerk of UENR Parliament.

The elections which took place on May 10, 2019, saw a massive turn out of students at their various polling stations.

The closely contested SRC presidential elections saw Mr. Joseph Adomako Junior polling 48.50 per cent of the total votes cast, while his closest contender, Mr. Enoch Ofori Larbi, secured 38.26 per cent.

In an interview with PENTECOST NEWS, Mr. Joseph Adomako indicated his preparedness to serve the interest of the students and also bring transformation into student politics.

“We have a change to make and the change we preach must be positive and evident in our way of doing things. I am here to make impact in the lives of the students and lead them as Moses did,” he stated, adding, “As young leaders, our focus should be on building a good name and image rather than filling our pockets after elections.”

“We must be inspired by the wise saying that, “a good name is better than riches;” we must yearn to leave a lasting legacy wherever we find ourselves.”
