The Ashaiman Area Head and Executive Council Member of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has encouraged lay leaders (officers) to continue to do more for the church so that the Church’s Vision 2028 will be realized.
He made this appeal on Thursday, 8th August 2024, at the recently concluded Lay Leaders School in the Michel Camp zone.
Responding to questions posed by some lay leaders, the immediate-past General Secretary of the Church explained that it is prudent for both current and former principal officers of the Church to remain politically neutral to make an impact on the nation.
“That is the position of the Church, and the same is expected of its Ministers,” he added.
Furthermore, Apostle Kumi-Larbi opined that institutions of the Church, such as the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Pentecost Hospital, and Pentecost University (PU), are built to high standards and aim for excellence.
In view of this, the European Union has partnered with PU to build the first Engineering Village in the sub-region, he revealed.
On the issue of why the Church does not acquire lands in developing areas before prices reach exorbitant levels, he explained that the Church’s strategy is to acquire strategic lands that are needed now while supporting ongoing projects.
“Indeed, members of the Church would be dissatisfied if ongoing projects were halted to invest funds in acquiring lands we would not have an immediate need for,” he said.
“Don’t give attention to those individuals who are using social media to propagate falsehoods about the Church and its leaders. They just want to divert our attention,” Apostle Kumi-Larbi added.
The former Chief Scribe of the Church concluded by thanking all lay leaders present. The Lay Leadership School is an annual event held to equip lay leaders of the Church.
This year’s school featured topics such as the Church Leader’s Personal Growth and Development and Unleashing Agents of Peace for Election 2024.
In attendance were District Ministers and their wives, Ministry Leaders, and Officers of the Church.
