The Minister-in-Charge of the e-Church of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Ebenezer Agyapong, has underscored the unparalleled value of the human soul and the need to prioritise spiritual well-being over worldly pursuits.

In a sermon he delivered on Saturday, January 4, 2025, titled: ‘Unleashed to Save the Never-Dying Soul,’ at the University for Development Studies in Tamale during the PENSA Ghana Conference, Apostle Agyapong posed a thought-provoking question: ‘For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?’

He explained that while people often invest considerable effort in enhancing their physical appearance, the body is transient and perishable. In contrast, the soul is immortal and eternal, warranting greater attention and care.

Referencing 1 John 2:15-17, he reminded believers that worldly desires are fleeting, saying, ‘The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.’

The e-Church Minister underscored that the soul’s value is further evidenced by the lengths to which both God and the devil go to claim it.

He stated: ‘The value of the soul is measured by the person found worthy to redeem it and by the devil’s interest in it.’

He also warned of the severe consequences of neglecting one’s soul, citing Hebrews 9:27: ‘And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.’

Apostle Agyapong urged believers to focus on the imperishable nature of the soul and to share the gospel diligently to prevent others from facing eternal loss.

He concluded with a call to action from Romans 1:16: ‘Do not allow others to go to hell; share the gospel with them so that they will be saved.’
