The Gbandi Community Based Church Building (CBCB) in Zabzugu District of the Yendi Area of The Church of Pentecost has been dedicated to the glory of God.
The building was dedicated by the Area Head, Apostle William Kojo Edzorhoho, assisted by the District Minister, Overseer Michael Kofi Arthur, and the Area Pastorate on June 19, 2019.
The Gbandi local assembly was established in March 1999 with 20 souls who were won at a rally held in the community. The rally was led by one Deacon Peter Mubey. Brother James Nida now an Elder was appointed to preside over the assembly. The members desiring to have a permanent place of worship, took to weeding in people’s farms and made an amount of GH¢1,200.00. The local also received a grant from the Headquarters during the time of the then Area Head, Apostle Daniel Nii Teiko Tackie, to start the project.
Speaking at the service on the topic, “A Memorial Before God In Building His Church” with Psalm 132:1-5, Hebrews 6:10 and Exodus 30:16 as his main Bible texts, Overseer Simon Kwarteng of Bincheratanga District said that in every generation, God has people He remembers.
“We must serve God in our generation. David served the purpose of God in his generation by building a place for the Ark of God,” he said.
He added that anyone who has plans to build the house of God has a godly mind and attitude.
Apostle William Kojo Edzorhoho, in his remarks, encouraged the members to be faithful to God in tithing, have a change in mind, attitude and character in building the Church of Christ in order to become a memorial before God.
He also commended the District Minister, his officers and the members for the good work done.
