The Millennium City Police Complex, near Kasoa which was wholly constructed and furnished by The Church of Pentecost at the total cost of GH¢5,254,486.32, has been commissioned by the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The state-of-the-art District Police Headquarters and Barracks for the Gomoa Fetteh community were dedicated and commissioned on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, during the 43rd General Council Meeting of The Church of Pentecost underway at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh.

The facility located on a 4.49 acres land  comprise of four (4) two-bedroom senior staff quarters, eight (8) one-bedroom junior staff quarters, four (4) two-bedroom junior staff quarters, a charge office, 12 administrative offices, male, female and juvenile cells with modern washrooms, 40-seater capacity conference room, among other facilities.

All the 16 flats in the barracks have been fitted with kitchen cabinets and finished with marble topping. The Police station has also been furnished and air-conditioned.

The Vice President commended the Church for the project, saying, “This, once again, is a demonstration of the Church’s commitment to developing the communities it serves. As we commend the Church, we solicit your continued partnership with Government in further enhancing the development of this nation.”

The Chairman of the Church, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, said the gesture was part of the Church’s corporate social responsibility towards the community to enhance security in the area. He entreated the Police Administration take proper care of the facility.

According to the Projects, Development & Estate Manager of the Church, Pastor Dr. Joseph Ignatius Buertey, who supervised the project, the Executive Council of The Church of Pentecost sought permission from the Ghana Police Service through the Regional Police Command in December 2012 to construct a Police Station and Barracks to enhance security in the communities springing within the Gomoa enclave.

He said the Inspector General of Police gave approval for the construction of the Police Station and Barracks in November 2014, with the sod-cutting ceremony taking place on 10th November, 2015 for construction to commence forthwith.

Present at the event were the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Appeatu, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, traditional leaders from the community and other parts of the country, the clergy, among others.
