The Obuasi Area of The Church of Pentecost, headed by Apostle Martin Seth Appiah, has dedicated a new set of musical equipment and sound system to be used for all Area outdoor programmes.
Apostle M. S. Appiah upon assuming office in 2013 initiated moves to end the renting of musical instrument and sound system during crusades and conventions which placed an undue financial burden on the Church.
As part of this year’s Area Week celebration, he led the Area to purchase of a brand new set of instrument.
Speaking at the Area weekly prayer programme dubbed ‘Wednesday Clinic’ on March 21, 2018, on the theme: “Remain in the Anointing of Christ and You will Never Fail,” Apostle M.S. Appiah emphasized that a believer without the Holy Spirit is an ordinary person just like a snake without poison.
He explained that anointing which literally means “to rob” is the only difference between a believer and non-believer. He classified anointing under two main categories- general and specific. Explaining the general anointing from the Hebrew word “Alepho” which means smearing of oil, he said it serves both physical and temporal purposes of embalmment, healing wounds and smearing over the sick (Luke 10:34; 7:37-38; James 5:14).
The specific anointing “Chrio” which brings to mind the meaning of Christ “The Anointed One” (Luke 4:18, Hebrews 1:8) has an original and spiritual purpose of empowering prophets, priests and kings for specific assignments by God. He stated that the specific anointing in the Old Testament was a combination of specific ingredients in their specific quantities restricted to only these people and was not to be duplicated by any other person as directed by the Lord (Exodus 30:22-38).
In the New Testament, he said, the Holy Spirit replaced the anointing oil and therefore dwells in believers. He indicated that every believer with the Holy Spirit has the original anointing “Alepho” and therefore do not need any physical anointing oil.
