The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has challenged Christians to take responsibility for transforming society, saying the world needs believers who will demonstrate the values of God’s Kingdom through their daily conduct.

He gave the challenge on Sunday, October 4, 2026, when he ministered at a Lord’s Supper Service at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC)-Kaneshie, which he attended with his wife, Mrs Juliana Korkor Obuobi.

Speaking on the theme “Transforming My World,” Apostle Obuobi referenced Romans 8:19, which speaks of creation eagerly awaiting the manifestation of the children of God, to emphasise the critical role Christians must play in addressing the moral and social challenges confronting society.

He observed that the world continues to experience corruption and moral decay, stressing that believers must move beyond attending church services to becoming instruments of positive change in their immediate environments.

According to him, a Christian’s responsibility extends to every sphere of influence, including the home, workplace, business environment, school and wider community.

Apostle Obuobi explained that Jesus’ description of believers as the salt of the earth and the light of the world in Matthew 5:13–16 places a responsibility on Christians to preserve godly values, influence society positively and illuminate places where darkness prevails.

He noted that, just as salt helps prevent decay and adds flavour, Christians must stand against moral deterioration and bring godly influence to their surroundings. Similarly, their lives must serve as a source of light through good works, integrity and conduct that points others to God.

Citing the example of Daniel, who served in the Babylonian and Persian kingdoms, the General Secretary highlighted integrity, excellence, prayerfulness and spiritual gifts as qualities that enabled the biblical figure to distinguish himself in a foreign environment.

He urged Christians to adopt similar values, insisting that their faith must be evident in their professional responsibilities, relationships and interactions with others.

Apostle Obuobi further assured believers that God has equipped them for this assignment through His divine power, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and His sufficient grace, as outlined in 2 Peter 1:3.

He encouraged members to recognise that transforming society does not necessarily begin with occupying prominent positions but with faithfully demonstrating kingdom principles wherever God has placed them.
